With trompe l'oeil you are given the illusion that you could reach out and touch the object. They can be painted right to the wall or painted on a high quality canvas that is applied to the wall like a good wall paper and is very durable. It also makes for a great investment because the mural can be removed and reapplied in case you move locations or want to change the look of your room again without the heartbreak of painting over your former investment.
